Google Social Search Is Live – Is Your Profile Ready?

Google social search has received a lot hype in the media and many people thought that this was going to really alter the organic search results on Google.  This could not  be further from the truth. The new social search features on the Google search engine are going to pull data from Google profiles.  Whithin your Google profile you can specify which websites are your own and where you have profiles on other social sites.  From this information google will build a huge database of who knows who and this will be what is used for the basis of there social search while you are logged into your google account.

It is not quite as scary as many of us thought and for the most part will have little to do with SEO, nor will it change the way that web site optimization is performed.  Now, unless things change that is, we only have the facts provided in the video below for right now.  Many think that the way Google is gathering information is part of a bigger conspiracy, but we are going to take it for face value until we hear otherwise.

The video we found is created by Google so you know that the information is straight from the horses mouth on this one.

Leave any comments and questions you have about the google social search feature below and leave a link to your Google profile too if you want others to find you!

Looking forward to all the other new cool stuff from Google,

Nick Simpson
