What is SEO or Search Engine Optimization?

Search engine optimization has become almost an everyday word, as least for folks who work with websites and online business, it should be. I assume that you already know the answer to this question or you would not be here, but I will go ahead and give a quick rundown, for those who fell asleep at the wheel and accidentally clicked a link that brought them here.

What Is Search Engine Optimization

Search engine optimization or as it is more commonly referred to SEO is nothing more than a process that a webmaster or a seo specialist use to make their page more appealing to search engines.  There are many factors that come into play to make a we page or a web site optimized for a search engine to find, index and display a web page in favorable positioning on it’s search results page.

The process of doing all these mini tasks to get your page ranked well in search results, is called SEO.

Hope this has helped somebody, I know it is basic, but really it is!

The hard part is everything that comes after….

Google Caffeine – To Boost Search Ranking Based On Page Load Time?

google_caffeine-and-page-load-timeWell, this is not the whole story, but this is a very true possibility so if you are in the SEO field, get ready now!  If you have not already heard, Google will  be rolling out a new back end to their world famous search engine as soon as the end of this month!  The new Google back end is being called “Caffeine” and will not change a whole lot for the end user, but if you are a webmaster or SEO expert there are definitely some things that you will want to be aware of.

The most dramatic change or at least the most visible change that has been officially released thus far is that Google may begin ranking pages higher in it’s search results that load quicker.  Page load time has long been a big factor in the stickiness of your website, but once Google Caffeine is in full effect, this may be more important to your web site traffic than it has ever been before.

If you want to hear the official interview with Matt Cutts on the upcoming release of Google Caffeine release,  just press play to watch the video below:

No matter what changes are to come from the new Google Caffeine release it is sure to change all of our jobs, at least for those of us who are webmasters and SEO experts.  It will be interesting to see if Google implements there full “social engine” that they have been working on for some time.  Also since there has been a lot of buzz about Google striking a deal with the guys over at twitter, don’t be surprised if you start seeing tweets show up where the video and other content relevant data show in mid stream already.

Only time will tell, we will make sure to update you when we know more on this topic, because there are sure to be some major search engine changes coming our way!
