Fresh Content Drives Page Ranking – Free SEO Tips
Well, lets begin with the end in mind. Lets just pretend that you have been following the seo tips provided here at view seo and you have noticed a few things like: you page rank is now 1-2 not a big 0, your getting some traffic to your site, and you can now find your website on the google search engine.
First of all that’s great! We are always glad to see some new search engine optimizers getting the results they are after!
There is always an amazing amount of excitement as you find out that all of your online efforts are starting to pay off and now you can see the results. This is a very important time as far as seo goes, because now more than ever, your site is getting looked at, rated and judged, by not only search engines, but Real People as well.
But now What?
SEO TIP
Fresh content can help improve your rankings. Add new, useful content to your pages on a regular basis. Content freshness adds relevancy to your site in the eyes of the search engines.
My Site Is Ranked Well, Do I Still Need New Content?
There is a lot to be said about “new” content on a website. Many folks believe that if they get a good standing in search results or if there page rank starts to go up that it is time to turn off the “Content Machine.” However, this is not the case. New content will always bring more attention to your site from search engines, social bookmarking sites, rss aggregators and other news related services. So if you are starting to reap the rewards of your seo efforts on a site of yours, don’t think that the work is done, in all reality it has just begun.
Now that you have those results you were looking for on your web site, it’s time to start fighting to keep them. Depending on what keywords you have focused on and how competitive the search terms are, this may be a big battle or it may simply be a small skirmish to maintain the results you have already achieved.
Either way, the answer is new content!
Not just some filler either. If your page is starting to get ranked well, that most likely also means that there are more people viewing your site now than ever before, so it is just as important if not more important, to really turn up the dial on quality of the content you add to your site as well.
Is New Web Site Content Important For Readers Or Search Engines?
If you started off by bringing a lot of new content to a site and all of a sudden there is nothing new on the site for weeks or months, not only will the search engines notice this, but so will the readers of your website. Think about it for a minute, if you were going to a site once a week and getting new tips for dog grooming or anything else, then after a few weeks nothing new shows up?
This would stop me from frequenting that site and for the same reason it will stop search engine spiders from frequenting your site, if they too notice nothing new being added. How often google spiders a site can be setup manually in the google webmaster tools system, however the automatic crawl rate is determined by one thing and that is how frequently your site is updated. So give google a reason to come back again and again!
What If I Cannot Come Up With New Content For SEO?
If you cannot keep coming up with content to add to your site, you can always look at outsourcing some of the writing or using some article directories to get new ideas and content to keep your site fresh.

Just wanted to let you know that I’m very appreciative of what you’ve written so far. I’m new to the world of blogging, have had mine up for about a month and a half now and have noticed lately that traffic is down a little bit and am looking for ways to get it going again. I’ve already done the Social bookmarking thing with a bunch of sites and do post in a few forums but will look into doing more. Thanks again
Justin
