Great post Nick, Mixing up your anchor text is one of the most important things you can do. It doesn't matter that you have backlinks on a bunch of different sites if the anchor text all says the same thing and the links all go back to the same page it isn't going to help with Google at all. I have gotten some great results in Google just by following the things you have written about. Great Job! Keep it coming.

Good information for some people trying to attack the SEO game. Most people want to submit just their Home page rather than their deep links as well.

You are very right about the linking and it becoming a handicap. I did a review for this site and they had massive amount of backlinks PR3 and up. However, their site was a PR1 and had very poor results in the SEs. The reason - the anchor text and the quality of the links were garbage. Try to alternate your anchor text.
